Course Description

Course Description and Credit Hours

A course in marketing theory and methods as they apply to world markets. Among the topics discussed are: the importance of linking international marketing with the overall strategy of the business while examining the impact of cultural, political and legal issues and the economic differences in global strategies. Emphasis is placed on developing the marketing mix appropriate to various international global environments.

Student Learning Outcomes

The major learning goal of this class is to develop through experience a global mindset related to Marketing and Business and its relationship with local, international and global perspectives.

  • To learn how to categorize, analyze and interpret relevant information about markets in different countries around the world.

  • To learn how to access social, cultural, economic, financial, political relevant information to be able to make inform decisions about the product, country and strategy that companies need to apply when working with Marketing.

  • To learn how to develop a product/service marketing strategy within international markets.

This class is fully developed under the experiential context. The simulation and the project are the center of the activities. We will not have exams. Only small quizzes or activities in class that will add to the participation item of your grades.
